Quickstart

Install, set the credentials, make the first call.

Pick your client. The server runs locally over stdio, or through the hosted runtime.

Add the server to your clientOne config entry. No build step, no SDK required.
Set the environment variables2 variables read by this server's code, listed below.
Restart and make the first callThe agent can call any of the 13 tools. Try create_customer first.
terminal
# Claude Code claude mcp add unblockpay -e UNBLOCKPAY_API_KEY=… -e UNBLOCKPAY_BASE_URL=… -- npx -y @codespar/mcp-unblockpay@0.3.1 # then: /mcp to confirm the server is connected
Environment variables2 variables
UNBLOCKPAY_API_KEYAPI key from the UnblockPay dashboardrequiredsecret
UNBLOCKPAY_BASE_URLOptional API base URL. Defaults to https://api.unblockpay.com/v1. Set to https://api.sandbox.unblockpay.com/v1 to hit the sandbox.optional

Names read from the package code (@codespar/mcp-unblockpay@0.3.1). Descriptions and flags come from its manifest. Self-hosted, you hold the credentials. On the CodeSpar runtime the credential you connect is stored encrypted (AES-256-GCM, key derived per organization), and the runtime adds it to the provider call itself; the agent never receives it.

Tools

What your agent can call.

13 tools, as the package's tools/list returns them.

create_customer

Create an individual or business customer (KYC mother). Business customers require date_of_incorporation; both types use 3-letter ISO country codes (BRA/USA/MEX). Returns { id, status: 'pending', verification: { verification_link } }.

list_customers

List customers under the operator's API key. `limit` is mandatory per UnblockPay's pagination contract.

verify_customer

Trigger the KYC verification check for a customer. Sandbox auto-progresses business customers through the hosted KYC flow once documents are uploaded. Idempotent β€” returns 422 'customer_cannot_be_verified' when already approved (safe to ignore).

get_verification_details

Poll the KYC verification state for a customer. Returns { customer_status: 'pending' | 'approved' | 'rejected' | 'partially_rejected', verification_steps: [...] }.

create_wallet

Create a stablecoin wallet under an APPROVED customer. blockchain selects the network (solana β†’ USDC; ethereum/polygon β†’ USDC/USDT; tron β†’ USDT). Customer must be 'approved' before this succeeds (422 customer_not_allowed otherwise).

list_wallets

List wallets under the operator's API key.

create_external_account

Register a fiat receiver account (BRL Pix, USD wire, EUR SEPA, MXN SPEI). Skippable for BRL Pix payouts β€” pass pix_key + document directly on /payout instead.

list_external_accounts

List external accounts under the operator's API key.

create_quote

Lock an FX + fee quote for a 5-minute TTL. Same endpoint for both on_ramp (fiat β†’ stablecoin) and off_ramp (stablecoin β†’ fiat). Pass amount on EITHER sender or receiver, not both. Response carries { id, expires_at, commercial_quotation, fees }.

create_payin

Create a fiat β†’ stablecoin pay-in referencing a quote_id. Sandbox min: 150 BRL / payout-side equivalents. Response carries { id, status: 'awaiting_deposit', sender_deposit_instructions: { deposit_address: '<Pix Copy & Paste EMV>' }, transaction_link }.

create_payout

Create a stablecoin β†’ fiat payout referencing a quote_id. customer_id is REQUIRED at the top level (404 'Customer not found' otherwise). Pix-BR shortcut: pass receiver.pix_key + receiver.document directly to skip external_account registration. Sandbox min: 25 USDC. Response carries { id, status: 'awaiting_deposit', transaction_link, sender_deposit_instructions: { deposit_address: '<blockchain address>' } }.

get_transaction

Poll transaction status. Lifecycle: awaiting_deposit β†’ processing β†’ completed (or failed / refunded / cancelled / error). Sandbox does NOT auto-progress without a webhook simulation β€” see UnblockPay's /concepts/transactions docs for the mocked transaction IDs available for status testing.

Names and descriptions come from the package's tools/list (@codespar/mcp-unblockpay@0.3.1). A kind (read, write, delete) is shown only when the package annotates its tools or each tool was verified one by one; neither exists for this server yet.

Compatibility

MCP is a protocol. Any client that speaks it can mount this server.

Through the CodeSpar runtime, codespar_discover finds this server's tools, and a tools/call runs with the credential connected in your project, a test key included.

Questions

Before you install.

How do I install the UnblockPay MCP server?

Run npx -y @codespar/mcp-unblockpay@0.3.1 and add the config block above to your MCP client: Claude Code, Cursor, Claude Desktop, VS Code, or any MCP-compatible client. No build step, no SDK required. Prefer hosted? Add the CodeSpar endpoint with a test key and connect UnblockPay in your project; codespar_discover finds its tools.

What can my agent do with UnblockPay?

UnblockPay exposes 13 tools for crypto. Your agent calls them directly; the full list is above.

How does UnblockPay authenticate, and how are credentials stored?

UnblockPay uses API Key. Self-hosted, you hold the credentials: the server reads them from its environment variables. On the CodeSpar runtime the credential you connect is stored encrypted for your organization, and the runtime adds it to each provider call, so the agent never handles it.

How does UnblockPay handle upstream API changes?

Every server is versioned independently on npm. The command on this page pins 0.3.1, the version whose tools are listed here; your agent keeps running it until you change the version.

Is UnblockPay open source? How do I report a bug?

Yes. UnblockPay is MIT-licensed and published on npm as @codespar/mcp-unblockpay, source on GitHub (link in the Details panel). Report issues on the package repository; security issues go to security@codespar.dev, and we respond within 24 hours.

Start in seconds.

On the CodeSpar runtime, the credential you connect stays encrypted for your organization and the runtime adds it to each call. You just call the tool.
