πŸ‡§πŸ‡· BrazilBankingAuth Β· API Keyalpha16 tools3 env vars

Open Finance BR aggregator (TPP). Single API across all BR banks: account discovery, balances, transactions, identity, investments, loans, and Pix payment initiation. Pluggy holds the ICP-Brasil cert and does Dynamic Client Registration with each bank β€” operator doesn't. Auth via clientId + clientSecret minting a short-lived X-API-KEY. Alpha on npm β€” endpoint set provisional pending live-validation.

Limitations

  • The server does not start without its environment variables set, not even to list its tools.
  • The package manifest does not declare 1 of the 3 variables the code reads.
  • The npm package ships no server.json manifest.

Quickstart

Install, set the credentials, make the first call.

Pick your client. The server runs locally over stdio, or through the hosted runtime.

Add the server to your clientOne config entry. No build step, no SDK required.
Set the environment variables3 variables read by this server's code, listed below.
Restart and make the first callThe agent can call any of the 16 tools. Try list_connectors first.
terminal
# Claude Code claude mcp add pluggy -e PLUGGY_API_BASE=… -e PLUGGY_CLIENT_ID=… -e PLUGGY_CLIENT_SECRET=… -- npx -y @codespar/mcp-pluggy@0.1.2 # then: /mcp to confirm the server is connected

PLUGGY_API_BASERead by the code; the package manifest does not declare it.

Names read from the package code (@codespar/mcp-pluggy@0.1.2). Descriptions and flags come from its manifest. Self-hosted, you hold the credentials. On the CodeSpar runtime the credential you connect is stored encrypted (AES-256-GCM, key derived per organization), and the runtime adds it to the provider call itself; the agent never receives it.

Tools

What your agent can call.

list_connectors

Lists supported Brazilian banks (connectors). Pluggy endpoint: GET /connectors. Optional filters: name, types (e.g. PERSONAL_BANK, BUSINESS_BANK), countries (BR), sandbox.

get_connector

Get a single connector definition by id. Pluggy endpoint: GET /connectors/{id}.

list_categories

List Pluggy's transaction categorization taxonomy. Pluggy endpoint: GET /categories.

create_connect_token

Mint a connect token for embedding the Pluggy Connect widget on the client. Pluggy endpoint: POST /connect_token.

create_item

Create a new bank connection (item) for a connector. Pluggy endpoint: POST /items.

list_items

List bank connections (items) owned by the application. Pluggy endpoint: GET /items.

delete_item

Delete a bank connection (revokes credentials, removes accounts/transactions). Pluggy endpoint: DELETE /items/{id}.

list_accounts

List accounts (checking, savings, credit card, investment) tied to an item. Pluggy endpoint: GET /accounts?itemId=...

get_account

Names and descriptions come from the package's tools/list (@codespar/mcp-pluggy@0.1.2). A kind (read, write, delete) is shown only when the package annotates its tools or each tool was verified one by one; neither exists for this server yet.

Compatibility

MCP is a protocol. Any client that speaks it can mount this server.

Through the CodeSpar runtime, codespar_discover finds this server's tools, and a tools/call runs with the credential connected in your project, a test key included.

Questions

Before you install.

How do I install the Pluggy MCP server?

Run npx -y @codespar/mcp-pluggy@0.1.2 and add the config block above to your MCP client: Claude Code, Cursor, Claude Desktop, VS Code, or any MCP-compatible client. No build step, no SDK required. Prefer hosted? Add the CodeSpar endpoint with a test key and connect Pluggy in your project; codespar_discover finds its tools.

What can my agent do with Pluggy?

Pluggy exposes 16 tools for banking. Your agent calls them directly; the full list is above.

How does Pluggy authenticate, and how are credentials stored?

Pluggy uses API Key. Self-hosted, you hold the credentials: the server reads them from its environment variables. On the CodeSpar runtime the credential you connect is stored encrypted for your organization, the runtime renews the OAuth2 access token, and it adds the token to each provider call, so the agent never handles it.

How does Pluggy handle upstream API changes?

Every server is versioned independently on npm. The command on this page pins 0.1.2, the version whose tools are listed here; your agent keeps running it until you change the version.

Is Pluggy open source? How do I report a bug?

Yes. Pluggy is MIT-licensed and published on npm as @codespar/mcp-pluggy, source on GitHub (link in the Details panel). Report issues on the package repository; security issues go to security@codespar.dev, and we respond within 24 hours.

Start in seconds.

On the CodeSpar runtime, the credential you connect stays encrypted for your organization and the runtime renews the OAuth2 access token. You just call the tool.

Create an account and copy a test key.
Add the hosted endpoint to your client with the config above.
Connect Pluggy in your project and ask your agent for the first call.
