Quickstart

Install, set the credentials, make the first call.

Pick your client. The server runs locally over stdio, with your own credentials.

Add the server to your clientOne config entry. No build step, no SDK required.
Set the environment variables4 variables read by this server's code, listed below.
Restart and make the first callThe agent can call any of the 20 tools. Try initiate_account first.

Tools

What your agent can call.

20 tools, as the package's tools/list returns them.

initiate_account

Create a persistent Jumio end-user account. An account groups all workflow executions (KYC transactions) for the same real-world user, enabling re-use of previously verified data and longitudinal fraud signals.

initiate_transaction

Start a new KYC workflow execution on an existing account. Returns a `redirectUrl` β€” redirect the end user there to complete the Jumio-hosted capture flow (document + selfie). Poll get_transaction for status afterwards.

get_transaction

Retrieve a workflow execution summary β€” status ('INITIATED' | 'PROCESSED' | 'SESSION_EXPIRED' | 'TOKEN_EXPIRED' | 'ACQUIRED'), decision outcome, and capability-level results. Poll this to track progress.

list_transactions

List workflow executions for an account. Useful for auditing or rebuilding state after a webhook failure.

get_transaction_details

Retrieve the full result payload for a workflow execution β€” all capability outputs (extraction, liveness, similarity, watchlist, etc). Use after status = 'PROCESSED'.

retrieve_document_data

Retrieve extracted fields from the ID document (name, DOB, document number, expiry, issuing country, MRZ, etc). Requires a completed workflow that included a document capability.

retrieve_similarity_score

Retrieve the facial similarity result (selfie vs document photo). Returns match decision plus confidence score. Requires a completed workflow that included a similarity/selfie capability.

delete_transaction

Delete a workflow execution (GDPR right-to-erasure). Removes captured images, extracted data, and decision audit trail for this transaction on Jumio's side.

update_transaction_status

Update the merchant-side status of a workflow execution (PATCH). Use to record your final accept/reject decision back on the Jumio transaction β€” helpful for Jumio's fraud model feedback loop and for dashboard reporting.

retrieve_credentials

List the credentials (captured artefacts: ID front/back, selfie, proof-of-address, etc) for a workflow execution. Each credential carries a parts[] array with URLs to download the stored images / PDFs.

cancel_transaction

Cancel an in-flight workflow execution (status 'INITIATED' or 'ACQUIRED'). Use when the user abandons the flow or you decide upstream not to proceed; finalises the workflow as cancelled and stops further processing.

retry_transaction

Retry a failed, expired, or rejected workflow execution. Creates a new workflow execution on the same account, optionally re-using the original workflow definition and customer references.

Names and descriptions come from the package's tools/list (@codespar/mcp-jumio@0.2.2). A kind (read, write, delete) is shown only when the package annotates its tools or each tool was verified one by one; neither exists for this server yet.

Questions

Before you install.

How do I install the Jumio MCP server?

Run npx -y @codespar/mcp-jumio@0.2.2 and add the config block above to your MCP client: Claude Code, Cursor, Claude Desktop, VS Code, or any MCP-compatible client. No build step, no SDK required.

What can my agent do with Jumio?

Jumio exposes 20 tools for identity & kyc. Your agent calls them directly; the full list is above.

How does Jumio authenticate, and how are credentials stored?

Jumio uses API Key. Self-hosted, you hold the credentials: the server reads them from its environment variables.

How does Jumio handle upstream API changes?

Every server is versioned independently on npm. The command on this page pins 0.2.2, the version whose tools are listed here; your agent keeps running it until you change the version.

Is Jumio open source? How do I report a bug?

Yes. Jumio is MIT-licensed and published on npm as @codespar/mcp-jumio, source on GitHub (link in the Details panel). Report issues on the package repository; security issues go to security@codespar.dev, and we respond within 24 hours.
